Nineteenth Birthday

Thanking God for another year of life

Today is my birthday and I feel so blessed to have another year of life on this earth. I am now nineteen, which doesn't feel much different than being eighteen, but nonetheless it is another step in my life. I am really proud of the woman I am becoming, a woman who is fearless, confident, and who chases her dreams.

I wouldn't be the person I am today without my amazing support system who raised me and who are always with me whether they are physically with me or miles away. Thank you to my mom, my grandmothers, my aunts, my uncles, my cousins, my great-grandma, my brothers, my boyfriend, my friends, every person who has supported me throughout my years. I work hard to make you all proud of me because it gives me the most gratification.

Now that I'm nineteen, I wonder what is in store for me this year. I hope to continue to grow, I hope that I will learn from my mistakes that I will surely make, I hope to continue to excel in my academics and leadership roles, I hope to inspire others or just be a person that people can talk to, I hope to help people, I hope to make change, I hope to get closer to my life goals. I hope to remain humble and prayerful.

I hope to be the best version of myself.

Cheers to another year!

My Day in Georgetown

My birthday this year fell on a Tuesday and so I decided to celebrate early with my friends and family. I had a wonderful time spending the day in Georgetown, it was my first time visiting and I know that it won't be my last.

We had lunch at this fabulous restaurant named Peacock Cafe near the waterfront in Georgetown. The service and food was amazing. I had the salmon and it was one of the best I ever had. Of course my favorite part was when they bought out a lava cake for me and everyone sang happy birthday.

My sweet Kayden posed for a quick picture with me. He's growing up too fast!

The Waterfront

After having lunch, we took a stroll around the town. I loved looking at all the unique stores and homes. We walked down to the waterfront where we were surprised to see my boyfriend's grandfather who offered us a ride on his boat! It was a wonderful way to end the day, the wind was so relaxing and we were able to learn some interesting facts about DC while cruising on the Potomac river.

After a rainy week the sun came out and gave us perfect weather all day

Outfit....and more pics

One thing I love about my birthday is that I actually have an excuse for being extra. I waited a whole year to wear this outfit but it was worth the wait because it was perfect for this occasion and location. My two piece is from Missguided and I love all the details of this outfit. It is a beautiful blush color with lace and so my style it's like it was made for me to wear on my birthday. This two piece really didn't need any accessories and so I just added watch and my nude wedges.

All smiles!

It was the perfect fit

I hope you all enjoyed all the photos and details about my birthday! Shoutout to my boyfriend Marquiss for these wonderful pictures, he has a true talent behind the camera.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes it truly means so much to me!

till next time,

xoxo Kye
