My 2022 Resolutions

Can you believe that it is about to be 2022? It truly feels like this year went by in the blink of an eye. Now I don't know about you all, but I love the new years because I feel so motivated to reflect, reassess and set new goals for the next year. This year I have some resolutions, but honestly they are less resolutions and more so realizations that I gained in 2021 that I want to continue in 2022.

2021 was quite the year, I'm writing another blog post to reflect on everything that happened, and I thought it was important to think about what are the lessons that I learned throughout those experiences. From the mistakes I don't want to make again, to goals I want to continue working on, to new goals I want to set, today I wan't to take the time and share with you all some of the resolutions I'm setting for 2022. So without further ado let's get into it!

I refuse to settle

In 2022, I refuse to settle in my relationships. One beautiful thing about learning more about yourself and putting self-care first, is that I have such a strong sense of confidence and self-worth. This has lead me to a mindset where I know what I bring to the table, what I deserve, what I want and I refuse to settle for anything less.

In the latter end of 2021, after being single for about 2 years after my four-year relationship, I decided that it was time for me to open up and start dating again. This was an important step for me to take because I knew that allowing myself to open up, get to know guys, and date someone new would allow me to grow and learn more about what I wanted from my relationships. After spending time "dating myself" I was ready for this next step.

I'm honestly in a mindset now where I am just excited for what is to come and I know that my next relationship will be fulfilling and healthy because I refuse to settle for anything less. And if you're interested in hearing more about my dating advice, I'm happy to write a blog about it because I have learned a lot - and I'm still learning. And I'm excited for all I will learn and experience in 2022.

I'm starting therapy

In 2022, I am starting therapy. This is something that I have been thinking of doing for a while and in 2021 between graduating and the new job, I never got around to doing it. So I decided to use this time during the holidays while I have a short break and all this motivation to better myself to start the process of getting a therapist.

I want to go to therapy for many reasons. To start, I have some family/childhood issues that I want professional advice on how to cope with. I decided that I don't want to be someone that "is fine" with the issues in my life, instead I want to have healthy coping strategies. I'm someone who will just not think about my problems and burry myself in my work instead, but when its time to talk about it I'm in tears because I keep it bottled in too much.

I also want to go to therapy to be able to be the best version of myself. In 2022, I'm going to be facing new transitions as I go to medical schools and I'll face new levels of stress during medical school as well. I want to start therapy before these changes occur.

As I look forward to 2022, I'm excited to work towards being a healthier version of myself.

Going to the Gym

Along with being a healthier version of myself mentally, I am also working to be the best version of myself physically. I have been off and on in the gym and the pandemic really didn't help, I learned that once I take a week off it can easily turn into two or three weeks.

I have a couple plans to keep my consistency going in 2022, for one I plan to have gym buddy and second I plan to pack my gym clothes in my car and go to the gym right after work. I honestly love working out and I'm excited for the happiness and strength I'll gain by being consistent in 2022.

More content creating

I'm really excited to continue content creating in 2022. For the last couple months of 2021, I've been allowing myself time to relax in the free time I have between my job, medical school interviews, and everything else I've had going on. But as medical school interviews wrap up I am excited to work on some more content and really invest some time in my brand. I'm excited to host some more mentorship workshops, write more blogs about the application process, and have new products in my business.

Traveling more

This is another goal that I started in 2021 and I'm excited to continue in 2022. My goal is to do some solo traveling for the first time, along with getting to see some new places I think solo traveling will be empowering and allow me to cherish the time I spend with myself. It'll also allow me to go to new places without depending on other people's schedules. I also saw an idea to visit 20 countries in my 20s and if I want to reach that goal then it is time to start!

I'm excited to get my start by visiting medical schools for second looks in the spring.

Overall, I'm so looking forward to the next year to continue working on my goals. In 2022, I'll be moving to a new city and starting medical school which will be turning a new chapter in my life...and I'm excited to keep sharing the journey here with you on this blog. I'm ready to embrace all that this next chapter will bring for me.

What are you looking forward to in 2022? What goals do you have for yourself? Comment below and let me know. I wish all of you a happy new year!

xoxo,

Kye
