Natural Hair Update & Edge Naturale Review

Hello my lovely readers, today I want to talk about a new product I have been trying and give some updates on how my natural hair is doing. Edge Naturale reached out to me and asked if they could send me some of their product for natural edges. I thought it was perfect timing seeing that I had just taken out my weave and I knew my edges needed some TLC!

Thank you Edge Naturale for sending the product! I was not paid for this review.

As you know, I usually wear my hair in weave. This has allowed my hair to have some major growth lately. I have always had natural hair as in no perm or chemicals, however I used to wear my hair straight most of the time. I really have come a long way with embracing and loving my curls. I stopped straightening my hair in my junior year of high school and so when I'm not wearing weaves or braids, I will wear my hair in it's natural and curly state.

Stepping away from the constant heat has helped my hair out so much! I noticed that my hair was thicker and my curls were more defined. I

Here is a picture of my hair in 2016. As you can see, I had a lot of heat damage and stringy straight hair when I tried to wear it natural.

Here is my hair now in 2020. As you see on the left picture, my curly hair has little to no heat damage, it is thick and flourishing. I took the picture on the right when I took out my weave a few weeks ago. It was the first time in a long time that I wore my hair blowdried out and I did a length check. I am honestly so surprised at the length of my hair and I hope to continue to treat my hair well and grow my hair.

I did notice that because of the tightness of my hair in the braids for my weave, I have some spots on my edges that were looking a little....sparse to say the least.

So, I was pretty excited to give Edge Naturale a try and see how it would work on my hair. Again, it is so crazy how they reached out to send me the product when I was legit already thinking about my edges and new hair products!

Before I started, I took some before pictures:

As you can see, my hair wasn't done and my edges were not laid, but I did see some spots of my edges that could use some love. After applying the product in the morning and in the night for about 2 weeks here are my results:

I certainly feel and see a difference in my edges and you can see by these images. As for the product, it smells great like peppermint and it leaves a little tinkling feeling but nothing too intense. I think it is also great value for your money, the jar is a 30 day supply and I find that the product really goes a long way!

Other natural hair tips

Something else I have been trying with my hair is using rice water. Rice water is supposed to have really great effects on hair and promote hair growth.

I first used it in my hair during my wash routine and have put it in a spray bottle to spray onto my curls after my deep conditioning.

I'm new to this rice water routine but I will keep you all updated on any changes I see in my hair!
